The SANDVIK COROMANT 5758666 is a replaceable groove milling tip engineered for indexable milling toolholders in the CoroMill 327 series. Manufactured from solid carbide in grade 1025 with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating, this tip delivers consistent performance in demanding groove milling operations. It features six flutes, a 90-degree lead angle, and a right-hand cutting orientation. The cutting diameter and cutting width are both 27.70 mm (1.0905 inches), with a maximum depth of cut of 6.5 mm (0.2559 inches) and a functional length of 6.25 mm (0.2461 inches). Designed for precision and repeatability, it suits shops running automated or manual milling centers where tip replacement must be fast and accurate.
This tip is suited for grooving operations across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium. It carries material grade coverage of P10, P20, P30, M10, M20, S10, S20, N10, and N20, making it a versatile choice for job shops and production environments dealing with mixed-material work. The 90-degree included angle and zero chamfer angle support clean, square groove profiles. Typical applications include slot milling, face grooving, and shoulder operations on machining centers and CNC mills. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians following the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure.
Designed for use with CoroMill 327 series indexable milling toolholders accepting insert size R12-28 30002. Verify toolholder designation before ordering to confirm tip-to-body fit.
Replaceable milling tips of this type are installed and changed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or seating a milling tip. Use the correct torque tool specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten or use impact tools on the clamping screw. Inspect the seating pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before installing a new tip to ensure proper seating and runout.
