The SANDVIK COROMANT 5757701 is an indexable threading toolholder designed for external thread-cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the CoroThread 266 series, this left-hand toolholder features a 1 x 1 inch square shank and accepts 266LG to 16 series inserts secured by screw clamping. The overall length is 6 inches, and the center-to-cutting-edge distance is 1.25 inches, providing consistent tool positioning for precision threading work. The body is constructed from steel for durability under interrupted cuts and continuous threading passes. This toolholder is installed by machinists and CNC operators performing external threading on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
The 5757701 is suited for external threading applications in production turning environments, job shops, and maintenance machining operations. Its left-hand orientation positions it for specific turret stations or threading directions where a right-hand holder would not engage the workpiece correctly. The CoroThread 266 platform is a standardized system, so insert selection can be matched to thread form, pitch, and material without changing the holder. Compatible inserts have an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches (3/8 inch IC). This toolholder fits standard 1 x 1 inch tool stations on CNC lathes and turret-style turning centers.
Designed for use with 266LG to 16 series threading inserts featuring a 0.375 inch (3/8 inch) inscribed circle, as specified for the CoroThread 266 toolholder system.
This toolholder is installed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or changing the toolholder or insert. Torque the insert clamping screw to the tool manufacturer's specification using the appropriate Torx or hex key supplied with the insert system. Verify tool overhang, center height, and turret orientation before resuming cutting operations.
