The SANDVIK COROMANT 5756758 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert designed for precision external turning operations in metalworking and machining environments. Identified by the ISO designation WNMG 08 04 08-QM H13A, it features an 80-degree trigon insert shape with a neutral hand orientation and a 0 degree relief angle (clearance code N). The H13A grade is an uncoated carbide substrate suited for demanding cutting conditions. With a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, a 0.3105-inch insert length, and a 1/32-inch corner radius, this insert is sized for standard WNMG-style toolholders. It delivers six cutting edges per insert, maximizing cost-per-edge value for production turning applications.
This insert is intended for use in CNC lathes and turning centers operated by machinists and tooling specialists in job shops, production facilities, and general manufacturing environments. It is part of the T-Max P series, which targets external turning of steel and stainless steel workpieces. The QM chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium machining conditions on steel (ISO material code P) and stainless steel (ISO material code M). Insert holding is accomplished via clamp and pin methods, consistent with standard WNMG indexable toolholder systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement turning insert for WNMG-style indexable toolholders accepting inserts with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thickness, and clamp-or-pin holding. Primary workpiece compatibility is steel and stainless steel per ISO material codes P and M.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Before indexing or replacing the insert, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured in a locked turret or tool post. Use the appropriate torquing tool for the clamping screw as specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Inspect the insert seat and chip pocket for debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper clamping and dimensional accuracy.
