The SANDVIK COROMANT 5756721 is a solid carbide turning insert in the T-Max P series, designated WNMG433-MR 2025 under ANSI coding and WNMG 08 04 12-MR 2025 under ISO coding. This insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, optimized for high wear resistance and toughness when machining stainless steel. It carries an 80-degree trigon (W) insert shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a negative side clearance. The MR chip breaker geometry is suited for roughing and medium machining operations. With 6 available cutting edges and clamp or pin holding compatibility, this insert delivers consistent tool life in demanding turning applications on CNC lathes and turning centers.
The 5756721 is engineered for primary use on stainless steel workpieces (ISO material group M), where controlled chip formation and coating durability are critical. The MR chip breaker geometry handles both roughing and medium machining passes, making this insert appropriate for external and internal turning operations where feed rates and depths of cut vary across a cycle. It is used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and manufacturing environments requiring reliable performance on austenitic and other stainless alloys.
Designed as an OEM-specified replacement or direct application insert for toolholders accepting WNMG433 (ANSI) or WNMG 08 04 12 (ISO) inserts using clamp or pin holding systems. Specific toolholder compatibility should be verified against SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max P series toolholder documentation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine in a full lockout/tagout state before insert indexing or replacement. Use the appropriate insert key or torx driver as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating and clamping the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for debris or wear before mounting. Never exceed the cutting parameter ranges recommended for grade 2025 and the MR chip breaker in the applicable machining data tables.
