The SANDVIK COROMANT 5756203 is a cubic boron nitride (CBN) turning insert designed for high-performance machining of hardened ferrous materials. Manufactured to WNGA insert style with an 80-degree trigon shape, this insert carries a titanium nitride (TiN) PVD coating and features an ER-treated, negative-land cutting edge style with a chip breaker designation of A. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, insert length is 8.69 mm (0.3421 inches), and the corner radius is 0.40 mm (1/64 inches). Neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for both left- and right-hand toolholders. It is intended for installation and use by experienced CNC machinists and turning-center operators working in production or job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for finish and semi-finish turning of hardened steels, cast irons, and similar difficult-to-machine materials classified under ISO workpiece material code H. It belongs to the T-Max P series, which is engineered for external and internal turning applications. The WNGA profile and negative geometry provide stable cutting action under consistent chip load conditions.
