The SANDVIK COROMANT 5756010 is a solid carbide turning insert in the VNGA style, designed for precision external turning operations on hard materials. Carrying the ISO designation VNGA160408S01030A 7025, this insert features a 35-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation and an uncoated (bright) finish. It belongs to Sandvik Coromant's T-Max P series, a line engineered for reliable performance in demanding turning applications. The insert has a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and a 0-degree relief angle, making it appropriate for hard-material turning where edge stability and wear resistance are the primary requirements. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and change these inserts during production turning and finishing operations.
This insert is intended for turning hard workpiece materials, classified under primary workpiece material code H. It is suited for use on CNC lathes and turning centers where the T-Max P toolholder system is in use. With four cutting edges per insert and the A-style chip breaker geometry, it is applicable in both finishing and light semi-finishing passes on hardened steels and similarly hard materials. The neutral hand design allows use in both right- and left-hand toolholder configurations where the VNGA seat style is specified.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max P series toolholders that accept the VNGA insert seat style. ISO code VNGA160408S01030A 7025 confirms fit in toolholders specified for that designation. Verify the toolholder pocket style, clamping method, and insert size code 332 before installation.
Insert changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine fully stopped and the spindle locked out per site lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate Torx or insert-clamp key to seat and secure the insert; do not overtighten the clamp screw beyond the toolholder manufacturer's specified value. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Discard inserts with chipped or worn edges rather than repositioning to an already-used edge without inspection.
