The SANDVIK COROMANT 5755911 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external turning operations on non-ferrous metals and superalloys including titanium. The insert features a 35-degree diamond shape (VCGX style) with a bright, uncoated finish suited for applications where coating buildup is a concern. With a 1/4 inch (0.2500 inch) inscribed circle, a 1/64 inch (0.0156 inch) corner radius, and a 7-degree relief angle, it delivers sharp, positive cutting geometry. It is installed and set up by machinists and CNC lathe operators working in precision metal removal environments.
This insert is engineered for turning non-ferrous workpiece materials as its primary application, with secondary suitability for superalloys and titanium. The SGF chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation in these demanding materials. The CoroTurn 107 series is a screw-clamped insert system commonly used on CNC turning centers for finishing and semi-finishing passes. At 0.4201 inches in length and 1/8 inch thickness, the insert fits holders designed for VCGX 11 03 04-AL geometry. This part is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series screw-clamped toolholders accepting VCGX 11 03 04-AL geometry inserts with a 0.1102 inch (2.80 mm) hole diameter. ISO designation is VCGX 11 03 04-AL H10. Primary workpiece material code N (non-ferrous metals); secondary workpiece material code S (superalloys and titanium).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket before tightening the clamping screw, and verify the cutting edge is correctly indexed prior to resuming operation. Handle solid carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge during storage and installation.
