The SANDVIK COROMANT 5755890 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external and internal turning operations. It carries the ANSI insert code VCGT2203 and ISO insert code VCGT110301, featuring a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive side clearance and 7-degree relief angle. The PVD-applied TiAlN and AlCr2O3 coating combination delivers high wear resistance while maintaining toughness, making this insert well suited for finishing and medium machining passes on demanding workpiece materials. The neutral hand orientation and screw-holding method support stable, repeatable cutting performance across compatible toolholders.
This insert is engineered primarily for stainless steel (ISO material group M) and special superalloys and titanium (ISO material group S), where controlled chip formation and edge integrity are critical. The UM chip breaker geometry is rated for roughing and medium machining operations. Machinists and CNC turning specialists working in aerospace, medical device, and industrial manufacturing environments will find this insert appropriate for tight-tolerance turning where surface finish and tool life consistency matter. Each package contains one insert, sold in multiples of 10.
Designed for use with CoroTurn 107 series toolholders that accept VCGT2203 screw-clamped inserts. Optimized for stainless steel (ISO group M) and superalloy and titanium workpiece materials (ISO group S).
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key for the clamping screw as specified by the toolholder manufacturer, and do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or contamination before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and edge height repeatability.
