The SANDVIK COROMANT 5755704 is a VBMT332-MF solid carbide turning insert from the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external turning operations in CNC lathe applications. Coated via CVD process with a TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN multilayer stack, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and semi-interrupted cuts. The 35-degree diamond insert shape provides a narrow nose angle suited for profiling and finishing passes. With a 0.0313-inch corner radius and a neutral hand orientation, it fits standard VBMT toolholders used by machinists and turning specialists across production and job-shop environments.
This insert is primarily suited for turning stainless steel workpieces, where the MF chip breaker geometry controls chip evacuation and reduces built-up edge during finishing cuts at moderate to high surface speeds. The CoroTurn 107 series targets small-part and medium-component turning where part access and nose geometry are critical. It is installed by machinists operating manual or CNC lathes and is sold in a minimum order quantity of 10 units, with individual packaging per piece.
Designed for use with VBMT-style screw-clamp turning toolholders in the CoroTurn 107 series. ISO designation VBMT 16 04 08-MF 2025. Intended for external turning of stainless steel workpieces. Verify toolholder bore and clamping pocket dimensions before installation.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully stopped and in a safe state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert firmly in the pocket and torque the clamping screw using the appropriate Torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Misalignment of the insert in the pocket can cause premature failure or poor surface finish.
