The SANDVIK COROMANT 5755519 is a solid carbide turning insert from the CoroTurn TR series, designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which provides thermal resistance and wear protection during cutting. It carries a manufacturer grade of 1105, a diamond (60-degree) insert shape, and a neutral hand orientation. The insert measures 0.4803 inches in length with an inscribed circle of 8 mm, making it suited for moderate depth-of-cut finishing and semi-finishing passes on metallic workpieces.
This insert is optimized for primary use on steel and secondary use on stainless steel, covering ISO material codes P and M. It is appropriate for production turning environments in both job shop and high-volume manufacturing settings. The F chip breaker geometry promotes reliable chip control during finishing operations. Installation is via screw-holding method, compatible with CoroTurn TR toolholders designed for the TRVB insert style. The insert size code is 1308 and the ISO code is TR-VB1308-F 1105.
Designed for use in CoroTurn TR series screw-clamp toolholders accepting TRVB insert style, size code 1308. The ISO designation TR-VB1308-F 1105 should be used to confirm toolholder compatibility. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO code P); secondary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO code M).
Installation of turning inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified seating procedure when securing the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating the insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's guidelines for torque and insert indexing procedures.
