The SANDVIK COROMANT 5755301 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CoroTurn 111 series, designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert carries the ISO designation TPMT 06 T1 04-MF 1125 and features a PVD-applied dual-layer coating of TiAlN and AlCr2O3 for extended tool life and thermal resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The triangular insert shape provides three cutting edges per insert, and the MF chipbreaker geometry is optimized for finishing passes. This insert is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in production and job-shop environments.
The 5755301 is suited for turning steel as its primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with standard right-hand toolholders used in most turning setups. The MF chipbreaker is particularly effective on finishing cuts where controlled chip formation and surface finish quality are critical. It fits toolholders that accept TPMT-style inserts and uses a screw clamping method for secure, repeatable seating.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 111 toolholders that accept TPMT-style inserts with a screw clamping method. Primary workpiece material code P (Steel); secondary material codes M (Stainless Steel), S (Superalloy), and P/S (Titanium) as indicated by the manufacturer.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine fully stopped and in a locked-out state per applicable safety procedures. Use the correct Torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified fastener procedure when seating the clamping screw. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert. Verify cutting data against the manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the 1125 grade before resuming operation.
