The SANDVIK COROMANT 5753637 is a solid carbide grooving insert engineered for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the TLG-3047R H13A ISO specification, this insert features a 1.19 mm (0.0470 inch) cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 1.91 mm (0.0750 inch). The uncoated H13A solid carbide grade delivers excellent edge sharpness and thermal stability, making it well suited for finishing cuts where tight dimensional tolerances are required. It carries a neutral rake angle of 10 degrees and a corner radius of 0.19 mm (0.0075 inch). Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in precision metalworking environments are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is designed for use in the Sandvik Coromant Top Lok insert system. It is appropriate for grooving and cut-off applications in both light-duty and production turning environments. The right-hand orientation suits standard lathe configurations where the tool approaches the workpiece from the right. The insert size 3 designation and seat size 3 make it compatible with Top Lok toolholders requiring that seat specification. It is suitable for machining materials where an uncoated solid carbide grade provides the required edge integrity and surface finish performance.
Designed for use with Sandvik Coromant Top Lok series toolholders requiring an insert seat size 3 and compatible with the TLG-3047R H13A ISO insert designation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or insert-seating key specified for the Top Lok toolholder to ensure proper clamping force without over-torquing the clamp screw. Verify insert seating and orientation before resuming cutting operations. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use.
