Product Description

The SANDVIK COROMANT 5753364 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the Top Lok series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert carries grade 1125 with a PVD-applied TiCrAlN and TiAlN dual-layer coating, providing wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. It features a 0.125 inch (3.17 mm) cutting width, a maximum depth of cut of 0.150 inch (3.81 mm), and a neutral rake geometry with a 10-degree rake angle. The corner radius is 0.0075 inch (0.19 mm). This insert is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production turning cells, and maintenance machining environments.

This insert is suited for grooving, recessing, and parting applications on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where tight tolerances on groove width and depth are required. The right-hand orientation means it feeds from left to right relative to the workpiece. The Top Lok series tooling system requires a compatible Top Lok insert holder; this insert is a direct replacement-style component for that system. It is a multi-use insert design, allowing use in multiple compatible holder configurations within the Top Lok family. ISO code for this insert is TLGP-3125R 1125.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide grade 1125 with PVD TiCrAlN and TiAlN coating for extended edge life
  • 0.125 inch (3.17 mm) cutting width with tight corner radius of 0.0075 inch (0.19 mm)
  • Maximum depth of cut 0.150 inch (3.81 mm); depth of cut range 0.118 to 0.157 inch (3.00 to 4.00 mm)
  • Neutral rake with 10-degree rake angle for stable chip formation
  • Right-hand insert orientation for standard left-to-right feed direction
  • Multi-use designation allows fitment in multiple compatible Top Lok holder styles

Compatibility

Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT Top Lok series grooving and parting holders that accept TLGP insert seat size 3. ISO code TLGP-3125R 1125 and manufacturers catalog number TLGP-3125R 1125 can be used to cross-reference compatible tooling.

Installation Notes

Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine at a full stop and all spindle motion confirmed ceased. Use the correct Top Lok clamping key or torx key specified for the holder to seat the insert fully before securing. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination can cause insert rocking and premature edge failure. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut for this insert grade and geometry.
