The SANDVIK COROMANT 5753236 is a right-hand indexable grooving and cutoff toolholder in the Top Lok series, designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. It accepts TLG 2 inserts secured by a clamp-style holding method, delivering a maximum depth of cut of 0.125 inches (3.18 mm). The shank measures 1 x 1 inches with a shank length of 3.7 inches, and the overall length is 5 inches. This toolholder is installed and set up by machinists and CNC turning specialists in production and job-shop environments requiring reliable grooving and parting performance.
This toolholder is suited for external grooving and cutoff applications on standard CNC turning centers and manual lathes that accommodate a 1 x 1 inch square-shank tool. The TLSR-162C style is a common platform in production turning where repeatable insert indexing and secure clamping are priorities. It performs well in both light-production and high-volume machining scenarios where consistent groove width and depth control are required.
Designed for use with TLG 2 series inserts. This toolholder is part of the SANDVIK COROMANT Top Lok series and is compatible with turning machines that accept a 1 x 1 inch square-shank toolholder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or changing toolholders. Ensure the toolpost or turret pocket is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Torque all clamping screws to the machine or toolpost manufacturer specifications using calibrated tooling.
