The SANDVIK COROMANT 5753169 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the TLG-2031R H13A ISO code, this insert features an uncoated bright finish with a 0.79 mm cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 1.27 mm. The H13A uncoated solid carbide grade is well suited for machining non-ferrous materials, cast iron, and other applications where a sharp, uncoated edge provides the most consistent chip control. Machining specialists and CNC operators select this insert for high-precision groove profiles where tight tolerances on width and corner radius are critical.
This insert fits into the Top Lok series toolholding system and is intended for use in right-hand grooving applications on production turning equipment. The insert seat size 2 and overall cutting height of 5.56 mm make it appropriate for light-to-moderate depth grooving passes in both roughing and finishing scenarios. Typical applications include external groove turning in precision machining environments such as aerospace, medical, and general manufacturing shops where solid carbide tooling is preferred over coated alternatives for specific workpiece materials.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT Top Lok series grooving toolholders that accept insert seat size 2. ISO code TLG-2031R H13A. Verify toolholder compatibility with the Top Lok seat specification before ordering.
Insert installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate Top Lok clamping mechanism and torque the insert screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification - do not substitute values not confirmed in the toolholder documentation. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the insert. Follow shop safety procedures and applicable OSHA machining guidelines when changing or indexing inserts.
