The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752987 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Designated TCMT432-MM 2035, this insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0313-inch (1/32 inch) corner radius. The 2035 grade substrate is PVD-coated with TiAlN and TiN layers, optimized for cutting stainless steel and other demanding workpiece materials. With three usable cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, it suits a wide range of external turning applications. Installed via screw-type insert holding, it fits standard TCMT-compatible toolholders used in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is intended for turning operations where stainless steel and similar ISO M-group materials are the primary workpiece. The MM chip breaker geometry is suited for medium machining conditions, helping control chip formation during continuous and interrupted cuts. With an insert length of 0.8345 inches and a thickness of 0.1875 inches, it fits TCMT-series toolholders configured for the 432 insert size code. It is used by machinists and CNC turning specialists in both production and precision job-shop settings.
Designed for use with TCMT-compatible screw-clamp toolholders in the CoroTurn 107 series. Insert size code 432 with clearance code C and tolerance code M. ISO designation TCMT 22 04 08-MM 2035.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and all energy sources locked out before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat and torque the clamping screw according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications — do not overtighten, as this can crack the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and locating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
