The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752945 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the H13A grade in an uncoated bright finish, this insert delivers consistent performance in applications where coating interference is undesirable, such as non-ferrous metals and certain cast materials. The left-hand cutting orientation and 1.57 mm (0.0620 inch) cutting width make it well suited for tight-tolerance groove profiles. A maximum depth of cut of 2.79 mm (0.1100 inch) and a corner radius of 0.19 mm (0.0075 inch) allow clean, repeatable groove geometry. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible Top Lok toolholders.
This insert belongs to the Top Lok series and carries the ISO code TLG-2062L H13A with an insert seat size of 2. It is intended for use in production turning environments where groove width accuracy is critical. The neutral rake with a 10-degree rake angle suits a range of workpiece materials. The insert size 2 designation and overall length of 0.3441 inches (8.74 mm) fit standard Top Lok insert pockets. Multi-use capability allows the insert to be indexed or repositioned within the toolholder as permitted by the pocket design, extending usable tool life per insert.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT Top Lok series grooving toolholders that accept insert seat size 2. The ISO designation TLG-2062L H13A identifies the compatible pocket geometry. Verify toolholder insert seat size and hand orientation before installation.
Grooving inserts of this type are installed and replaced by machinists or CNC tooling technicians following machine lockout procedures — power down and confirm the spindle is fully stopped before handling any insert. Use the appropriate Torx or insert-clamp wrench specified for the Top Lok toolholder; do not substitute fastener tools, as over- or under-torquing the clamp can cause insert seating errors or premature failure. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or wear before seating the new insert. Confirm correct hand orientation and seat size before initiating a test cut.
