The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752797 is a TCMT-style triangular turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide with a TiAlN and AlCr2O3 PVD coating, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of workpiece materials. The neutral hand orientation suits a wide range of tool holders. With a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/64-inch corner radius, and the MF chip breaker geometry, it is suited for medium to fine finishing passes where controlled chip formation and surface finish are priorities. It belongs to the CoroTurn 107 series and carries manufacturer grade 1125.
This insert is designed for turning applications where the primary workpiece material is steel. It also performs across secondary workpiece materials including stainless steel, superalloy, and titanium. The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium finishing operations, producing predictable chip control at moderate feed rates. Typical installations are performed by CNC machinists and tool-room technicians in production and job-shop environments. The screw-clamping holding method suits standard CoroTurn 107 compatible tool holders.
Designed for use with CoroTurn 107 series tool holders that accept TCMT-style inserts with a screw-clamping holding method. ISO designation TCMT 16 T3 04-MF 1125. Verify holder bore and seating pocket dimensions before installation.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool-room technician with the machine powered down and in an e-stop or locked-out state per your facility lockout/tagout procedure. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to the tool holder manufacturers specified screw torque when seating the insert — refer to the holder documentation for that value. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Never mix insert grades or geometries within a tool holder setup without verifying compatibility with the workpiece material and cutting parameters.
