The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752785 is a solid carbide turning insert in the TCMT style, designed for use in the CoroTurn 107 series tooling system. It features a triangular insert shape (60-degree included angle) with a TiAlN and AlCr2O3 PVD coating applied through a physical vapor deposition process, making it well suited for high-temperature cutting applications. The insert measures 0.618 inches in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius. It is held by a screw-style clamping method and carries a neutral hand orientation. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators install this insert type in standard TCMT-compatible toolholders.
This insert is optimized for turning stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for superalloys and titanium. The MM chip breaker geometry is engineered to manage the tough, stringy chips common in stainless steel and superalloy machining. It is a single-unit package item sold with a minimum order quantity of 10, making it appropriate for shop floor replenishment in production turning environments. The CoroTurn 107 series is a widely used platform for external and internal turning operations requiring reliable chip control.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series TCMT-style toolholders. ISO code reference: TCMT 16 T3 08-MM 1115. Primary workpiece material compatibility is stainless steel (ISO material code M); secondary compatibility includes superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert clamp screw — do not overtighten or use improvised tools. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert.
