The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752744 is a TCMT-style triangular turning insert designed for general-purpose external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide in grade 5015 with a bright uncoated finish, it is suited for applications where coating would interfere with workpiece finish or where the substrate itself provides adequate wear resistance. The insert measures 0.3374 inches in length with an inscribed circle of 5.71 mm (0.2250 inches) and features a 1/32-inch (0.0313-inch) corner radius. A 7-degree relief angle and T-type chip breaker geometry support controlled chip evacuation in light-to-medium turning cuts. This insert is specified and installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians.
This insert is used in screw-clamped TCMT insert holders on turning centers, engine lathes, and multi-axis CNC machines across production and job-shop environments. The triangular 60-degree included angle provides three usable cutting edges per insert. The UF geometry designation indicates a finish-cutting chipbreaker profile, making this insert appropriate for light depth-of-cut finishing passes where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are the priority. The ISO code for this insert is TCMT 09 02 08-UF 5015.
Designed for use in TCMT-compatible screw-clamp turning toolholders accepting inserts with an inscribed circle of 5.71 mm and the TCMT 09 02 08 form factor. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and clamping screw size against the ISO code TCMT 09 02 08-UF 5015 before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and will crack under excess clamp load. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or damage before seating a fresh insert edge.
