The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752714 is a TCMT-style triangular turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for single-point external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide substrate and finished with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, making it well suited for cutting cast iron workpieces at sustained depths. It features a neutral hand orientation, a KR chip breaker geometry, and three usable cutting edges per insert. The 3210 manufacturer grade balances wear resistance with toughness for general-purpose cast iron turning. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production or maintenance machine shops are the primary installers.
This insert is optimized for primary workpiece material code K, covering grey cast iron, nodular cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. The CoroTurn 107 series is a screw-clamped tooling system commonly used in medium to finishing turning passes. The KR chip breaker promotes reliable chip control at moderate feed rates. It is suited to both production turning cells and job-shop environments where consistent tool life on cast iron components is required.
Designed for use with CoroTurn 107 series screw-clamp toolholders accepting TCMT inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. ISO code TCMT 16 T3 12-KR 3210 identifies the exact insert geometry for toolholder matching. No additional specific model compatibility was provided in the product data.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping procedures for screw-held TCMT inserts. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters for grade 3210 on non-cast-iron workpiece materials, as this grade is optimized specifically for cast iron.
