The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752506 is a TCMT-style triangular turning insert from the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external turning operations on stainless steel and similar difficult-to-machine materials. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, designated manufacturer grade 2015. This coating stack delivers wear resistance and thermal protection during continuous and light-interrupted cuts. With a 0.4071-inch insert length, a 1/4-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius, this insert suits finishing and medium-roughing passes where edge sharpness and chip control are critical. The MF chip breaker geometry promotes reliable chip formation in stainless steel. Installation and selection are typically handled by CNC machinists and tooling engineers.
This insert is engineered for use in external turning applications where primary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO material code M). The CoroTurn 107 series is oriented toward screw-clamped toolholders accepting TCMT-geometry inserts with a 7-degree relief angle (clearance code C, tolerance code M). The neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for right-hand and straight-turning approaches. Typical applications include shaft turning, bore-adjacent facing, and contour turning on CNC lathes in both production and job-shop environments.
Designed for screw-clamped TCMT-style toolholders in the CoroTurn 107 series. Compatible toolholders accept inserts with a TCMT insert style, 60-degree triangle shape, 7-degree relief angle, and a 1/4-inch inscribed circle. Verify ISO code TCMT 11 03 04-MF 2015 against toolholder specifications before ordering.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling specialists. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully into the pocket and torque the clamping screw according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert pocket and shim seat for damage or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and edge geometry.
