The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752482 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal-turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying the TCMT221-MM 2025 designation, it features a 60-degree triangular shape with a 1/64-inch (0.0156-inch) corner radius and a 1/4-inch inscribed circle. The CVD-applied multilayer coating — TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN — is engineered primarily for stainless steel machining. Three cutting edges per insert are available, and the MM chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation in demanding finishing and semi-finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and index this insert as part of the CoroTurn 107 tooling system.
This insert is suited for turning operations where stainless steel and similar work materials require a sharp, well-supported cutting edge with reliable chip control. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with standard right-hand turning tool holders in the CoroTurn 107 series. Typical applications include external turning, facing, and profiling on CNC turning centers in both job-shop and production environments. The screw-holding method provides positive clamping, and the TCMT insert style fits dedicated pockets designed for that geometry. This insert is sold individually per package, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in the CoroTurn 107 series tooling system. This insert accepts TCMT-style pockets with a screw-holding method. The ISO code TCMT 11 03 04-MM 2025 can be used to verify holder and pocket compatibility. Primary workpiece material designation is M (stainless steel) per ISO material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and clamping screw specified by the tool holder manufacturer — do not over-tighten the clamping screw, as this can crack the insert or damage the pocket seat. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
