The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752434 is a TCMT-style triangular turning insert from the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external turning applications on CNC and manual lathes. The insert carries a PVD-applied TiAlN and AlCr2O3 dual-layer coating under manufacturer grade 1115, engineered for cutting performance in difficult-to-machine materials. It features a neutral hand orientation, a 0.2 mm corner radius, and an MF chip breaker geometry suited to finishing and light-to-medium cutting passes. With three usable cutting edges per insert, it offers a cost-effective edge count for high-volume turning operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in metalworking shops are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is intended for turning stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, with superalloys and titanium designated as secondary workpiece materials. The CoroTurn 107 series is configured for screw-clamped toolholders that accept TCMT-geometry inserts with a C clearance code and M tolerance code. Typical applications include finishing passes on austenitic stainless components, aerospace alloy parts, and titanium structural components where edge sharpness and coating adhesion directly affect surface finish and tool life. The MF chip breaker geometry is particularly well-suited to low-feed, close-tolerance turning where chip control is critical.
Designed for use in screw-clamp toolholders accepting TCMT-geometry inserts with a C clearance angle and M tolerance designation. ISO code TCMT 11 03 02-MF 1115. Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the toolholder pocket before tightening the clamping screw, and verify the cutting edge is properly indexed. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before each insert change to maintain accurate seating.
