The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752320 is a solid carbide turning insert in the TCGT style, designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a manufacturer grade of 1125 with a PVD-applied TiAlN and AlCr2O3 dual-layer coating for wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The insert is left-hand oriented, features a 60-degree triangular shape with three cutting edges, and a corner radius of 0.0156 inches (1/64 inch). It belongs to the CoroTurn 107 series and is held in place by a screw-clamp method. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert as part of a qualified toolholder assembly.
This insert is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Its K chip breaker geometry and positive rake TCGT profile make it well-matched to lighter depths of cut on these materials. Typical applications include shaft turning, bore finishing, and profiling on both horizontal and vertical turning setups. The CoroTurn 107 series is a common platform in production and job-shop environments where consistent surface finish and edge repeatability are required.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series toolholders that accept TCGT-style inserts with a 1/4 inch inscribed circle. ISO code TCGT 11 02 04L-K 1125 can be used to cross-reference compatible holders and confirm fitment in your tooling catalog.
Insert replacement and indexing should be performed with the machine in a full stopped and locked-out state per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the clamp screw - do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before indexing to a fresh edge. Handle carbide inserts with care; edge chipping from improper handling will reduce cutting performance.
