The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752312 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Designated under the TCGT insert style with a 60-degree triangular shape, this insert features a TiAlN and AlCr2O3 coating applied via PVD process, delivering strong wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. It carries a neutral hand orientation and a chip breaker geometry designated UM, which is optimized for light finishing and semi-finishing operations. With a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, it is suited for applications requiring tight tolerances and fine surface finishes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops and production facilities are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is part of the CoroTurn 107 series and is engineered primarily for cutting stainless steel, with secondary suitability for superalloys and titanium. These materials are common in aerospace, medical device, and oil and gas component machining. The screw-hold clamping method and TCGT geometry make this insert compatible with positive-rake toolholders, which reduce cutting forces and are preferred when machining thin-walled or difficult-to-hold workpieces. Its ISO designation is TCGT 11 03 08-UM 1115.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series positive-rake screw-clamp toolholders accepting TCGT 11-size triangular inserts. Compatible primarily with stainless steel workpieces and secondarily with superalloys and titanium. ISO style code TCGT 11 03 08-UM 1115 can be used to cross-reference compatible toolholder bore and pocket dimensions.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine in a full stop, locked-out condition. Use the appropriate torx or hex key at the manufacturer-recommended seating procedure to engage the screw clamp without over-torquing the insert pocket. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Never attempt to index or remove an insert while the spindle is in motion.
