The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752222 is a solid carbide turning insert in a triangular (T) shape with a 60-degree included angle, belonging to the CoroTurn 107 series. It carries a bright uncoated H13A carbide grade, a KF chipbreaker geometry, and a neutral hand orientation. The inscribed circle measures 5.71 mm (0.2188 inches), insert length is 8.97 mm (0.3532 inches), and the corner radius is 0.40 mm (1/64 inch). Screw-clamped into compatible toolholders, this insert is specified by machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments working cast iron and non-ferrous materials.
The 5752222 is designed for external and internal turning operations on cast iron (ISO material code K) as a primary workpiece material, and non-ferrous metals (ISO material code N) as a secondary application. The KF chipbreaker is suited for light to medium finishing passes where controlled chip evacuation and surface finish consistency are priorities. The CoroTurn 107 series is Sandvik Coromant's platform for screw-on turning inserts used in both roughing and finishing on lathes and turning centers. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 series screw-clamp toolholders that accept TCMT-style inserts with a 0.0984-inch (2.50 mm) hole diameter. ISO insert code is TCMT 09 02 04-KF H13A. Always verify toolholder seat geometry and insert size code (1.81.51) against the toolholder manufacturer catalog before installation.
Turning insert installation and replacement is performed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the turret or toolholder. Use the correct Torx or hex key driver specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw — do not over-tighten or use improvised tools that can damage the insert pocket. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert, as a contaminated pocket will affect edge seating and dimensional accuracy.
