Product Description

The SANDVIK COROMANT 5752129 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the TCMT style, designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the CoroTurn 107 series, it features a 60-degree triangular shape with a neutral hand orientation and a 7-degree relief angle. The insert measures 0.4071 inches in length with a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius, making it suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes. Three cutting edges are available per insert, improving tooling economy. The UF chip breaker geometry is optimized for light, precise cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators handle installation and indexing.

This insert is engineered primarily for steel (ISO material group P) and secondarily for cast iron (ISO material group K). The CoroTurn 107 series targets external turning and profiling applications in both production and job-shop environments. The screw-clamping holding method provides secure seating in compatible toolholders. Typical applications include longitudinal turning, facing, and contour turning on low-to-medium alloy steels and gray or nodular cast iron. The uncoated bright finish suits applications where coating adhesion could be a concern or where re-grinding is intended.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide grade 5015, uncoated bright finish - no coating process applied
  • UF chip breaker geometry suited for light finishing cuts on steel and cast iron
  • 60-degree triangular insert shape provides 3 usable cutting edges per insert
  • 7-degree relief angle (clearance code C) reduces flank wear in precision turning
  • Screw-clamping insert holding method for rigid, repeatable seating
  • ISO designation TCMT 11 02 04-UF 5015 for cross-reference with other tooling systems

Compatibility

Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series toolholders that accept TCMT-style inserts with a screw-clamping holding method, tolerance code M, and clearance code C. Compatible with toolholders specified for a 1/4-inch inscribed circle TCMT insert.

Installation Notes

Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop, spindle off, and all motion axes locked. Use the correct Torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to tighten the clamping screw - do not overtighten or use impact tools on insert screws. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's recommended clamping torque procedure for TCMT screw-on inserts.
