The SANDVIK COROMANT 5751713 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision external turning operations on difficult-to-machine materials. It carries a TCGT insert style with a 60-degree triangular shape, three cutting edges, and a left-hand cutting orientation. The insert features a TiAlN and AlCr2O3 PVD coating that extends tool life when machining stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The 0.20 mm corner radius and K-style chipbreaker geometry support light, controlled cuts with predictable chip formation. This insert is used by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians in production and job-shop environments running turning centers and lathes.
The 5751713 belongs to SANDVIK COROMANT's CoroTurn 107 series, which is engineered for positive-rake, light-cutting applications on stainless steel and high-temperature alloys. It is well-suited for finish and semi-finish passes where surface quality and dimensional control are critical. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO code M), with secondary applications in superalloys and titanium (ISO code S). The insert mounts via screw-clamping and fits CoroTurn 107 compatible toolholders. ISO designation for this insert is TCGT 06 T1 02L-K 1115.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 series screw-clamp toolholders accepting TCGT style inserts with a 5/32-inch inscribed circle. Compatible primary workpiece materials are stainless steel (ISO M) and secondary materials including superalloys and titanium (ISO S).
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians using the appropriate Torx or hex key for the screw-clamp mounting system. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or damage before seating the insert. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges prior to use.
