The SANDVIK COROMANT 5751100 is a solid carbide milling insert engineered for precision metal removal in demanding milling applications. Carrying the ANSI designation SPMT 432-WH 235 and ISO code SPMT 12 04 08-WH 235, this square-shaped, single-sided insert features a neutral hand orientation and a positive rake geometry that reduces cutting forces on the workpiece. The insert is finished with a CVD-applied dual coating of TiCN and TiN, which provides wear resistance and thermal stability. With 4 cutting edges per insert, it delivers consistent performance across multiple index positions before replacement. The WH chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip formation in steel and stainless steel cutting operations.
This insert is intended for use in face milling and shoulder milling operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material groups P and M. It is compatible with the R215.64 and RA215.64 cutter series, making it well suited for production environments in aerospace, automotive, and general machining shops. The 11-degree relief angle and corner-rounded cutting edge style reduce the risk of workpiece surface damage and extend tool life in moderate to heavy cutting passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this insert type.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT R215.64 and RA215.64 cutter series toolholders. ANSI code SPMT 432-WH 235 and ISO code SPMT 12 04 08-WH 235. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and stainless steel (ISO M).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always index or replace inserts with the machine fully stopped and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the recommended seating feel without over-torquing the insert pocket. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces for chips or damage before installing a new insert to ensure full contact and accurate runout.
