The SANDVIK COROMANT 5750391 is an SNMG643-MR 2025 indexable turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC turning applications. Built from carbide substrate and coated via CVD with a TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN multilayer system, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal protection during aggressive cuts. It carries an 8 cutting edges on a square insert body with a 90-degree included angle and a 3/64 inch corner radius. The MR chip breaker geometry is engineered to manage chip control in medium-roughing to finishing passes. This insert is installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians working on production turning centers.
This insert is primarily suited for turning stainless steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO workpiece material code M. It belongs to SANDVIK COROMANT's T-Max P series, which targets external and internal turning operations where consistent chip breaking and edge life are critical. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with standard right-hand and left-hand toolholders configured for SNMG insert pockets. Typical applications include shaft turning, facing, and contour passes on stainless and similar difficult-to-machine alloys in both job-shop and production environments. ISO designation for this insert is SNMG 19 06 12-MR 2025.
Designed for use in toolholders with SNMG insert pockets (insert style SNMG, clearance code N, tolerance code M). Compatible with clamp-and-pin style clamping systems. Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max P series. ISO code SNMG 19 06 12-MR 2025. Refer to your toolholder manufacturer's insert pocket specification to confirm seating and clamping compatibility before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key torque wrench as specified by the toolholder manufacturer for the clamping screw — do not over-tighten or under-tighten the clamp. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamp pin for wear or debris before seating a new insert edge.
