The SANDVIK COROMANT 5747767 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built on the R840 series platform, it features a multilayer TiAlN coating, a 140-degree self-centering point, and a spiral flute design that promotes efficient chip evacuation. The overall length is 3.1102 inches with a 7.2 mm cutting diameter and an 8.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Coolant-through capability is built in, supporting high-speed, deep-hole drilling operations. This tool is intended for installation and use by machinists and tool-room professionals in CNC and manual drilling applications.
This drill bit is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering material groups P, M, K, N, and S under ISO classification. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 1.6142-inch flute length make it well suited for drilling depths up to 1.6142 inches in tight-tolerance applications. The micrograin carbide grade and high-performance designation make it appropriate for production drilling where tool life and hole quality are critical. It conforms to DIN 6535HA specification for straight-cylindrical shanks.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes accepting an 8.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S). Conforms to DIN 6535HA shank specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and all spindle motion fully stopped before handling. Verify chuck or collet bore matches the 8.00 mm shank diameter before clamping. When using internal coolant delivery, confirm the machine spindle and toolholder are rated for coolant-through operation before engaging coolant flow. Inspect the cutting edge and coating condition before each use; carbide is brittle and should not be dropped or used in setups with excessive runout.
