The SANDVIK COROMANT 5747211 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It measures 8 mm (0.315 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree self-centering point angle and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life in high-heat applications. Overall length is 91 mm (3.583 inches), with a flute length of 53 mm (2.087 inches) and a maximum drilling depth of 41.40 mm (1.630 inches). The straight-cylindrical shank matches the 8 mm bit diameter, and the regular spiral flute with right-hand cut geometry promotes clean chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability makes this bit well suited to deep-hole operations in production environments. It carries a micrograin carbide grade for edge stability at elevated cutting speeds.

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully stopped and the spindle locked out per applicable machine guarding procedures. Verify that the tool holder bore and collet are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Confirm coolant-through passages are clear and that spindle coolant pressure is set according to the machine tool builder's specifications before beginning a cutting cycle. Never exceed the recommended axial depth of cut for the diameter and material combination being machined.
