The SANDVIK COROMANT 5745876 is a solid carbide milling insert in the R390 series, designed for high-productivity shoulder and face milling operations. Coated with TiAlN and TiN via a PVD process, the grade 2030 substrate offers strong wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of cutting conditions. The insert measures 3.59 mm thick and 6.80 mm wide (inscribed circle), with a 1.60 mm corner radius and a maximum depth of cut of 10.00 mm. It features a positive 25-degree rake angle and a rounded cutting edge style with an MM chip breaker. This insert is typically installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in shop and production environments.
The 5745876 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to material application codes P, M, and S. The parallelogram insert shape, right-hand orientation, and screw-holding method make it compatible with R390 and M-32 cutter bodies. It is a single-sided insert with two cutting edges per insert. The insert size code is 11T316, and it carries both ANSI and ISO designations under the catalog number R390-11 T3 16E-MM 2030. Typical applications include square-shoulder milling and general-purpose face milling on CNC machining centers in production or job-shop settings.
Compatible with R390 and M-32 cutter body series as stated in the product specifications. ANSI and ISO catalog designation R390-11 T3 16E-MM 2030 applies. Intended for use in machines and holders designed for 11-size inserts with screw clamping.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key for the clamping screw as specified by the cutter body manufacturer, and inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for debris or damage before seating the new insert. Follow the cutter manufacturer's recommended seating procedure to ensure proper indexing and secure clamping before resuming cutting operations.
