The SANDVIK COROMANT 5745532 is a solid carbide milling insert engineered for high-performance face and shoulder milling applications. Built to ANSI and ISO standards under the designation R390-11 T3 02E-KM H13A, this insert features an uncoated bright finish in manufacturer grade H13A, offering a positive rake angle of 25 degrees for efficient chip formation and reduced cutting forces. The parallelogram-shaped insert includes two cutting edges with a corner radius of 0.20 mm, a maximum depth of cut of 10.00 mm, and is secured via screw-clamping. It is installed by machinists and tool-crib technicians working with precision milling toolholders in the R390 and M-32 cutter series.
This insert is suited for machining cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium, making it applicable across aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing environments. The KM chip breaker geometry controls chip flow effectively across these demanding material categories. With a single-sided, right-hand configuration and an included angle of 90 degrees, it is designed for shoulder milling operations where precise corner geometry and consistent depth of cut are critical. The insert size code is 11T302 and the inscribed circle measures 6.80 mm.
Compatible with R390 and M-32 cutter series milling bodies that accept screw-clamped inserts of size code 11T302. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and screw torque specifications against the cutter body documentation before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and tighten the clamping screw to the torque value specified by the cutter body manufacturer. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw threads for wear or debris before installing a new insert.
