The SANDVIK COROMANT 5742014 is an internal, right-hand indexable threading toolholder designed for precision thread-turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built from steel and part of the T-Max U-Lock 166 series, it accepts 1/4 inch inscribed circle inserts secured by screw clamping. The 5/8 inch shank diameter and 16 mm minimum bore diameter make it suitable for internal threading in a range of bore sizes. With an overall length of 6 inches and a pitch range covering 32 to 12 threads per inch, this holder serves production threading applications that demand consistent insert indexing and rigid setup.
This toolholder is intended for internal threading on production turning equipment in machine shops, tool rooms, and manufacturing facilities. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators performing thread-turning on lathes with appropriate boring bar setups. The screw-lock insert holding method provides reliable clamping during continuous threading passes. The maximum depth of cut reaches 1.875 inches, and the head length measures 1.03 inches, making it useful for moderate bore depths in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
Compatible insert styles include R166.0L-11MM01-050, R166.0L-11MM01-100, R166.0L-11MM01-150, R166.0L-11MM01-200, R166.0L-11NT01F140, R166.0L-11NT01F180, R166.0L-11UN01-140, R166.0L-11UN01-160, R166.0L-11UN01-180, and R166.0L-11UN01-200, all within the T-Max U-Lock 166 series platform.
This toolholder is installed by qualified machinists or CNC operators on a lathe or turning center. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the toolholder or indexing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert screw driver per the machine tool setup procedure for screw-clamp toolholders. Verify minimum bore diameter clearance of 16 mm before committing to a boring bar setup.
