The SANDVIK COROMANT 5741440 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the CoroCut 1-2 series standard, this insert features a 4 mm cutting width, a 5-degree right-hand lead angle, and a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process for extended tool life in demanding materials. The CF chipbreaker geometry promotes reliable chip control during cutoff work. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians who require consistent performance in high-volume production turning environments.
This insert is suited for use in parting and grooving applications on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in both production and job-shop settings. The right-hand configuration and clamp-style holding method make it compatible with standard CoroCut 1-2 toolholders. A maximum depth of cut of 23.20 mm supports cutoff operations on medium-diameter bar stock and tubular workpieces. The insert seat size is H, and the manufacturer catalog number is R123H2-0400-0501-CF 1125.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroCut 1-2 series toolholders accepting an H insert seat size and a 4 mm insert width.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque and seating procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is de-energized before changing inserts. Verify insert seating is flush and the clamp screw is tightened to the toolholder specification before resuming cutting. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut rating for the insert grade during setup.
