The SANDVIK COROMANT 5740859 is a right-hand indexable grooving and cutoff toolholder in the CoroCut 1-2 series, designed for external grooving, parting, and cut-off operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It accepts N123F2-0250-CM inserts secured by a clamp-style holding method, providing rigid insert clamping during interrupted and continuous cuts. The toolholder handles a groove width range of 2.39 to 3.18 mm and a maximum depth of cut of 17 mm, making it well suited for medium-range grooving and parting applications in production turning environments. The shank measures 16 mm x 16 mm with an overall length of 125 mm.

This toolholder is intended for external turning operations in both high-volume production and job-shop settings. It mounts in standard square-shank tool stations on CNC turning centers and manual lathes with appropriately sized tool blocks. Typical applications include grooving for snap rings and O-ring grooves, face grooving, and full parting of bar stock.
