The SANDVIK COROMANT 5739364 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. Built on the CoroMill 390 platform, this tool features a 1-inch cutting diameter, a maximum depth of cut of 10.01 mm (0.394 inches), and a 3/4-inch Weldon Flat shank for positive rotational drive in the spindle. It accepts three R390-11 series inserts secured by screw-in holding, and supports through-coolant delivery to manage heat and chip evacuation at the cutting zone. The tool is rated to a maximum of 36,100 RPM and is classified as a ramping end mill, making it suited for both shoulder milling and ramping entry cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with steel toolholding systems will find this a direct fit for CoroMill 390-compatible setups.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers performing square-shoulder milling, face milling, and ramping operations. It is well suited for production work in aerospace, general manufacturing, and job shop environments where consistent insert indexability and coolant-through capability are required. The 90-degree lead angle produces true square shoulders in a single pass, reducing secondary operations. With an overall length of 3.5 inches, the tool fits standard tool-length requirements for most horizontal and vertical machining center setups. Insert changes are performed at the machine with standard Torx or hex drivers without removing the body from the holder.
Compatible with R390-11 series indexable inserts. ISO designation RA390-025M19-11M confirms fitment within the CoroMill 390 tooling system. Verify insert grade and geometry selection against workpiece material and cutting parameters before use.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the Weldon Flat shank in a matching 3/4-inch end mill holder and torque the setscrew to the holder specification before operation. Ensure through-coolant supply lines are connected and verified before running at elevated RPM. Inspect all three insert seats and screw-in fasteners for seating and integrity before each production run.
