The SANDVIK COROMANT 5737876 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the T-Max Q-Cut series, it carries a CVD-applied TiCN/Al2O3/TiN multilayer coating that improves wear resistance and extends tool life across a range of workpiece materials. The insert features a neutral hand orientation, a 0.315 inch (8.00 mm) cutting width, and a 0.50 mm corner radius. With a rake angle of 7 degrees and the 5G chip breaker geometry, it promotes controlled chip evacuation during grooving cuts. Machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments install this insert into compatible T-Max Q-Cut toolholders.
This insert is suited for external grooving, face grooving, and parting applications on turning equipment. The N151.2 insert style fits into the corresponding T-Max Q-Cut insert seats sized for 80 mm seat designation. It is applicable to machining operations on steel, stainless steel, and similar materials where a CVD-coated solid carbide grade 2135 insert is specified. The 5G chip breaker geometry supports moderate to higher feed-rate grooving where chip control is a priority. This insert is sold individually per package, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max Q-Cut series toolholders accepting the N151.2 insert style with an 80 mm insert seat size. Verify toolholder seat designation before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is indexed to a safe position before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the insert pocket and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque using the correct Torx or hex key. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert to prevent seating errors and premature insert failure.
