It features an 8 mm cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 27.3 mm, making it suitable for moderate to deep grooving passes in a single setup. The insert carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which provides thermal resistance and edge hardness for extended tool life in interrupted cuts and continuous grooving on steel, stainless, and cast iron workpieces. A neutral hand orientation and positive rake geometry support consistent chip flow and reduced cutting forces. This insert is installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians.
The 5737505 fits the CoroCut 1-2 insert system and is suited for external grooving, face grooving, and parting applications on turning equipment. It is appropriate for production environments running medium to high spindle speeds where consistent groove geometry and surface finish are required.
