The SANDVIK COROMANT 5737454 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Running under the N151.2 insert style in the T-Max Q-Cut series, this insert features a 4.00 mm (0.1575 inch) cutting width, a neutral lead angle, and a 7-degree relief angle. The H13A grade is an uncoated carbide grade suited for grooving applications where a sharp, bright cutting edge is required. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this insert into compatible T-Max Q-Cut toolholders as a consumable cutting edge replacement.
This insert is applied in parting and groove-turning operations on metalworking lathes in production and job-shop environments. The neutral hand and zero lead angle make it appropriate for straight-plunge cutoff work on a range of workpiece materials. The 0.30 mm (0.0118 inch) corner radius provides a controlled edge geometry for clean groove floors. It is held in the toolholder by a clamp-style clamping method, which is standard across the T-Max Q-Cut platform.
Designed for use with T-Max Q-Cut series toolholders that accept the N151.2 insert style with an insert seat size of 40. Confirm toolholder seat size and insert style designation before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque driver or clamp key specified for the T-Max Q-Cut toolholder to seat the clamp securely without overtightening. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for wear or debris before seating the new insert.
