The SANDVIK COROMANT 5737065 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the N151.2 insert style with a 3.00 mm cutting width (0.1181 inches), it carries a manufacturer grade of 1145 and features a TiAlN and AlCr2O3 PVD coating applied for wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The 5E chipbreaker geometry and neutral lead angle make this insert suited for straight-feed cutoff passes on a wide range of workpiece materials. A 0.20 mm corner radius and 7-degree relief angle complete the cutting geometry. Installation is clamp-held, consistent with standard T-Max Q-Cut toolholders. This insert is specified and installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production turning environments.
The 5737065 is part of the SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max Q-Cut series, a system designed for parting, grooving, and profiling on lathes and turning centers. The neutral hand and neutral lead angle configuration support use on both standard and Swiss-style lathes where a centered, non-directional approach to the workpiece is required. Typical applications include cutoff operations on bar stock and component parting in medium to high-volume production runs. The PVD-coated carbide substrate supports interrupted cuts and moderately abrasive materials. Each package contains one insert, sold in minimum order quantities of 10 units.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max Q-Cut series toolholders that accept insert seat size 30 and the N151.2 insert style. Confirm toolholder seat size and clamping method before ordering. No additional compatible model numbers were specified in the product data.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Verify clamp torque per the toolholder manufacturer specification and inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Do not use damaged or chipped inserts, as this can cause unpredictable cutting forces and workpiece damage.
