The SANDVIK COROMANT 5736782 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the ISO designation N151.2-A142-30-4G 235 and belongs to the T-Max Q-Cut series, a platform built for controlled, repeatable groove geometry. The insert features a neutral hand orientation, a 0.142 inch cutting width, and a CVD-applied TiCN/TiN coating that provides wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting zone. Manufacturer grade 235 is suited for a range of workpiece materials where a tough, coated carbide substrate is required. Machinists and CNC programmers in metalworking shops are the primary users.
This insert is used in grooving, parting, and profiling applications on turning equipment. The 4G chip breaker geometry is intended to manage chip flow in grooving cuts where chip evacuation is critical to surface finish and tool life. With a cutting height of 0.267 inches and an insert seat size of 30, it fits compatible T-Max Q-Cut toolholders designed for that seat designation. It is appropriate for both roughing passes and finish grooving where dimensional accuracy is required. The neutral rake angle supports stable cutting action across a variety of metal grades.
Designed for use with T-Max Q-Cut series toolholders accepting insert seat size 30. Verify toolholder seat size and insert style N151.2 compatibility before ordering. No additional specific machine or toolholder model numbers were provided in the product data.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping specifications. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for damage or debris before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the cutting parameters recommended for grade 235 carbide in the applicable material machining data.
