The SANDVIK COROMANT 5736774 is a solid carbide cutoff insert carrying the manufacturer designation N151.2-250-4E 1125, designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 2.5 mm (0.0984 inch) cutting width with a neutral hand orientation and a zero-degree lead angle, making it suitable for straight, symmetrical cutoff passes. The 4E chipbreaker geometry controls chip formation during interrupted or continuous cuts. A PVD-applied TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and edge hardness for extended tool life in steel and stainless steel applications. Insert seat size is 25, and this insert is held in position by a clamp-style toolholder. Relief angle is 7 degrees.
This insert fits into the T-Max Q-Cut series toolholder system, which is commonly used in production turning environments for parting, grooving, and profiling. The neutral lead angle and 4E chipbreaker make it particularly effective on materials that generate continuous or stringy chips. Typical applications include OD cutoff, shallow grooving, and face grooving on bar stock and turned components in job shop and production machining settings. Installation requires a compatible T-Max Q-Cut clamp-style holder with a size 25 seat. Sold individually; minimum order quantity is 10 pieces.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max Q-Cut series clamp-style toolholders accepting a size 25 insert seat. Verify holder compatibility with insert style N151.2 before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to engage the clamp mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure — do not overtighten by feel alone. Confirm insert seating is flush and fully engaged in the pocket before resuming cutting operations.
