The SANDVIK COROMANT 5736213 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a 4 mm cutting width (0.1575 inches) and a neutral lead angle, making it suitable for straight plunge cuts without directional bias. The insert features a TiCN/Al2O3/TiN multilayer coating applied by MT-CVD, which supports extended tool life in steel and alloy machining. A 0.30 mm corner radius (0.0118 inches) and a 7-degree relief angle control chip formation and reduce rubbing at the cutting edge. This insert is installed by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production turning environments.
This insert fits the CoroCut 1-2 series toolholding system and is used in applications requiring precise parting, grooving, or face grooving on turned components. The N123H2 insert style and H seat size designate the holder compatibility within the CoroCut 1-2 platform. Typical applications include production runs on steel, stainless, and alloy workpieces where controlled chip breaking is critical. The CR chipbreaker geometry promotes chip evacuation in medium-depth grooving cuts. Maximum depth of cut reaches 23.70 mm (0.9331 inches), supporting a wide range of part diameters.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroCut 1-2 series toolholders requiring an H insert seat size and N123x2 insert style. Refer to the CoroCut 1-2 toolholder catalog to confirm holder-to-insert compatibility before ordering.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Use the correct clamping screw torque driver as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert fully against the insert pocket. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Never run a damaged or improperly seated insert.
