The SANDVIK COROMANT 5735633 is a solid carbide grooving insert from the CoroCut MB series, engineered for precision external and face grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating over a 1025-grade carbide substrate, delivering a combination of wear resistance and edge toughness suited to a wide range of workpiece materials. The insert features a 1.5 mm cutting width, a maximum depth of cut of 2.8 mm, and a neutral rake geometry with a 2-degree rake angle. Right-hand orientation and a 90-degree lead angle define the cutting direction. This insert is installed and replaced by machinists and CNC operators during scheduled tooling maintenance.
The 5735633 is designed for use in CoroCut MB series toolholders configured for size 07 insert seats. It is suited to light grooving, part-off, and profiling applications on small-diameter workpieces where tool overhang and clearance are critical. The 1025 grade performs well in both dry and wet cutting conditions across steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Typical applications include grooving operations on Swiss-type and gang-tool lathes where the MB system is the standard tooling platform.
Designed for CoroCut MB series toolholders accepting size 07 insert seats. ISO code MB-07G150-00-11R 1025 can be used for direct toolholder and catalog cross-reference matching.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a stopped, locked-out state. Use the appropriate Torx or insert-clamp wrench specified for the CoroCut MB toolholder to seat the insert correctly — do not overtighten the clamping screw. Inspect the insert seat and clamping mechanism for debris or wear before seating a new insert. Verify cutting direction and insert hand orientation against the toolholder setup before resuming operation.
