The SANDVIK COROMANT 5735451 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying manufacturer grade 1025 with a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating, this insert delivers wear resistance and edge stability in demanding metal-cutting environments. It features a 1.5 mm (0.0591 inch) cutting width, a 20-degree right-hand lead angle, and a 6-degree relief angle. The MACR chipbreaker geometry controls chip flow during cutoff operations. With a maximum depth of cut of 6.30 mm (0.2480 inches) and an overall length of 12.02 mm (0.4732 inches), this insert fits the CoroCut XS system with insert seat size 3. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert as part of a precision parting tooling setup.
This insert is intended for use in the Sandvik Coromant CoroCut XS system, targeting small-part turning, Swiss-type machining, and precision parting applications. The right-hand orientation and 20-degree lead angle suit operations where angled entry improves chip clearance and reduces cutting forces on small-diameter workpieces. The 0.05 mm corner radius (0.0020 inches) supports tight-tolerance finish cuts. It is suited for production environments where consistent insert geometry and repeatable seating are critical. The clamp-style insert holding method keeps the insert secured under interrupted cuts and high-feed conditions.
Designed for use with the Sandvik Coromant CoroCut XS system, insert seat size 3. Manufacturer catalog reference: MACR 3 150-R20 1025.
Installation is performed by trained CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the correct clamping torque as specified by the toolholder manufacturer for CoroCut XS holders. Inspect the insert seat for debris or damage before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and prevent premature edge failure.
