The SANDVIK COROMANT 5734202 is a solid carbide indexable boring bar in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for internal turning, boring, and profiling operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. It carries a single DCMT 21.51 insert secured by screw clamping and delivers a neutral rake angle with a 0-degree lead angle for consistent, repeatable cutting performance. The shank diameter is 3/8 inches (9.53 mm), the overall length is 6 inches (152.40 mm), and the minimum bore diameter is 0.5984 inches (15.20 mm). Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in demanding bore finishing and roughing applications.
This boring bar is suited for small-diameter internal machining in both production and job-shop environments. The E-SDUC toolholder style and CoroTurn 107 platform make it applicable to boring, profiling, and turning passes in a single setup. The solid carbide bar body provides rigidity in long-reach, small-bore situations where steel shanks may exhibit deflection. It is appropriate for use on CNC turning centers and live-tool lathes in shops handling precision components in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The tool accepts a 1/4-inch inscribed circle DCMT 21.51 insert.
Accepts DCMT 21.51 inserts with a 1/4-inch inscribed circle. Compatible with CoroTurn 107 series inserts as specified by SANDVIK COROMANT. Designed for use in tool blocks and boring bar holders sized for a 3/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the boring bar from the tool block. Confirm insert seating and screw torque per the insert manufacturer guidelines before engaging the cut. Verify minimum bore diameter clearance against workpiece geometry before beginning a boring operation to avoid tool or workpiece damage.
