The SANDVIK COROMANT 5730943 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC lathe and turning center applications. Configured in the DCMT style with a 55-degree diamond shape, this insert features a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating for extended tool life and heat resistance at the cutting edge. It carries a 7-degree relief angle and a 0.0156 inch corner radius, making it suited for finishing and light semi-finishing passes. The MM chip breaker geometry is optimized for stainless steel and similar difficult-to-machine alloys. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert as part of the CoroTurn 107 tooling system.
This insert is part of the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 series, which targets external turning of stainless steel (ISO material group M) in both production and job-shop environments. With a 3/8 inch inscribed circle and a screw-clamping hold method, it fits CoroTurn 107 toolholders designed for DCMT-style inserts. The MM chip breaker geometry performs best in continuous cuts on austenitic and duplex stainless grades where chip control is critical. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 toolholders accepting DCMT-style inserts with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle. ISO code for this insert is DCMT 11 T3 04-MM 2035.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician with the machine in a full stop and locked-out state before handling cutting edges. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's seating procedure when tightening the clamping screw — avoid over-torquing, which can crack the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Handle carbide inserts with care; edges are sharp and the substrate is brittle under side impact.
